This post is just to let you know what’s up with me personally.

About a week ago, I moved from an apartment to a boat.  I am no longer employed so with no money coming in, I am having to rely on the kindness of friends right now.  Thus, I am living on a small boat in a marina in Kemah, Texas.  It’s not a bad little place, but there’s not much to see here.

I have begun working towards getting dental implants.  Once again, relying on the kindness of friends, I am getting badly needed dental work done in the hopes of getting employed.  People don’t like hiring people with really bad teeth don’t you know.  I got a bad lower left molar removed and getting my lower teeth cleaned.  Once all that’s done, the entire row of top teeth -10 in all – will be removed.  A top denture plate is already being made.  It’s going to be temporary until I heal up enough to get implants.  Then, I’ll have a decent smile again. 🙂

Seeing my general practitioner doctor on Nov 12.  I am still waiting to hear from the RA Specialist I was supposed to have gotten referred to.  I’ll see what’s going on with that when I see the regular doctor.  I am still hopeful I can move forward with treatment for the RA at the very least.

National November Writer’s Month is coming up very soon!!  I can’t wait!!  The general goal is 50k words.  I am going for a personal best of 75k words though if I can get more out of Golden Knave, I’m going to.

So, that’s me all caught up.  Internet connection isn’t as good as I had in the apartment, but I can work with it. It doesn’t bother me as much as not being able to see the cats I used to care for.  One of the girls I’m keeping in touch with says Lucien has finally made friends with her.  This is good because he needs taking care of.  I just hope the others are okay too.  Baby had three kittens last time I was there, and she was weaning them.  I hope they’re smart enough to see who is feeding the adults and get in there to eat too…

Time is growing short with my plan to move.  I have been packing, sorting, donating, giving away and throwing away for the last few days.  My back aches from it.  I still have more to do.

I hate moving.

I don’t like all the anxiety and upset it causes on so many levels.  I want it to just be all over with.  It’s not realistic, I know, but it’s how I feel.  I’m doing what I can to not let it get to me,  but I’ll still be happy when it’s over.

Monday, Tuesday at the latest and I will be on my way to a new place. I’ll be staying on a boat with a friend until I find a better situation.  The boat is going to be okay.  It’s in a nice spot in Kemah, Texas.  I’ll be able to focus on my writing and get my health care straightened out – I hope.  Writing is my main focus.

Yup, after almost five years in the same apartment, it’s time to move.  I have a lot of bittersweet memories of my son, Joe, and my cat, Lancelot, here, but though they are full of love, they are also full of pain.

Joe has moved on, has a daughter and a beautiful girlfriend.  They keep in touch, which is fantastic, but they are not here with me.  Lancelot, has passed on, and this, more than anything, is proving the impetus for me moving.

I lost Lancelot to FIV back in March of this  year, and it still hurts a lot.  I miss him, and I cry at the mere thought of him.  This is not conducive to having a happy life or moving on from this loss.  I don’t want to forget him, there’s no way I could seeing how he touched my life, but I don’t want to be sad any more.  I have not replaced him with another cat, I just tend to strays who need a little help now and again.

By moving, even to a place that is only going to be a stop over for maybe a month, I hope to get my mental equilibrium back and be able to focus on living life more, being happier and more productive.

I have NaNoWriMo coming up, and I want to complete it this year!

I am still working on my website, but I think I have it nearly complete.  I’m dithering between adding images for my books or not.  I don’t have any really good ones which means several hours on a photo editor for each image.  Considering my health right now, not sure if I could comfortably handle that.  It’s something to consider though since I really want people to like my site and visit it.

I have completed the rest of the pages for the site to my satisfaction though so that’s a plus.  I think I may announce the site sans images and then add the images at a later time, as each one is completed to my liking.

Sounds good to me.  Okay, that’s my update.  I am going to an art show/art contest tonight featuring a friend of mine who is a fantastic artist.  I’ll post pictures with my blog tomorrow as well as contact information for her. 🙂

It’s currently a work in progress, but I’m happy with the layout.  I’m just working on the content now.

I have decided I need an author’s site and since I’m a starving writer(almost), I’m doing it on the cheap.  Don’t hate me.  I promise to upgrade to something more professional when I have the money.  I will be copying posts from here to there from now on, but I won’t be abandoning this place because I love it so much 🙂

Speaking Volumes is the name of a traditional publisher whose main focus is the electronic version of books i.e. ebooks and audio books.  They do print books as well.

I recently asked if I could submit Crimson Knight to them for publication even though  I have self published it through CreateSpace.  They said “Yes”. 🙂

I am cleaning up a couple of things on the manuscript today and then, this evening, I’ll submit it to Speaking Volumes.  I hope they accept it!  I’d love to have a definite possible future home for Golden Knave once it’s done.
