Audiobook Review – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

I was feeling nostalgic for the world of Harry Potter so I got the audiobook version of it as my books are still packed away. I found it on Audible.com. As everyone knows, the books were written by J.K. Rowling. This audiobook is narrated by Jime Dale.

I was disappointed by Mr. Dale’s performance, and I ended up giving the book an overall score of 3. Mr. Dale was very good at narrating the action scenes. He made those quite thrilling to listen to. His voices, on the other hand, were not so good. There was hardly any differentiation between them. Mrs. McGonagall did have her accent, so she stood out. However, Hermione, instead of sounding strong willed and confident, sounded like she was whining most of the time. Snape’s tone didn’t match his words, and he came off sounding a bit insipid.

Still, don’t take my word for it. Try the book out for yourself, you might like Mr. Dale’s work where I didn’t.

See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!
