Audiobook Review – Serpentine by Laurell K. Hamilton

This book was released in all forms in 2020. It was written by Laurell K. Hamilton and narrated by Kimberly Alexis. This is the first audiobook I’ve listened to by both women.

Laurell K. Hamilton writes thrilling whodunits with an erotic supernatural twist. Anita Blake is a Marshall with the Preternatural Branch and engaged to be married to three men. She also raises zombies for a living though it’s been a while since she’s actually done that.

In this story, it’s another marshall, Marshall Ted Forrester better known to Anita as Ed, who is the one getting married. As best man, she’s in charge of the bachelor party and securing the location for the wedding. Things go awry when the other guests have issues with some of the preternatural wedding guests. Just when things couldn’t get any worse, a shifter unlike anything Anita has ever seen starts abducting young women.

It’s a fantastic story that my recap can’t begin to properly describe. I have been an avid fan of Laurell K Hamilton’s writing and recommend her with five gold stars. As for the narrator, I think she did a fine job even with the male voices. I think, however, I won’t be getting any more audiobook versions of Hamilton’s work – I enjoy actually reading a book.

Still, don’t take my word for it, try it out yourself! Serpentine by Laurell K. Hamilton

See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!
