It’s Spring!! March 2021 Update

Yes it is!! Winter has finally gone, and Spring is sweeping in with bright colors and warmer days. At least she is here in East Texas!

I know I didn’t post anything after my writing prompt post on Wednesday. My lights just turned off suddenly plunging me into emotional darkness for a few days. My insecurity over something could have done it, but more likely it was just something that happened with no reason. It happens from time to time. Sometimes, the lights are out only for an hour or two and sometimes, they’re off for a long time. I have learned to do things to try to turn the lights back on., and I’m able to shorten the blackout times. Mental health is not something I take lightly, and my only issues cause me to be a big supporter of my fellows and their ways of coping.

Still, the lights are back on, and I’m feeling a great sense of rebirth and renewal in everything!! I am starting this week on a positive note and writing a belated update of my escapades.

Mimi Queen of Fluff

Here is my darling watching me work and waiting for me to get up so she can steal my chair. 🙂 We’ve been taking longer walks now that the weather is getting warmer. She makes me go for walks even in my dark times, and I give thanks for her every day because of it. It helps.

Writing

I am nearly done with The Inbetween. My niece is waiting on a pen she wants to use on the cover art she’s making for the novel, and I’m okay with that. I don’t want to rush her, and we both be unhappy with what she does. We both want her to do a good job.

Golden Knave is still with the beta readers, so I’m not doing anything else with it yet.

I’ve also gotten a copy of Gabriela

Fiber Art

I’m making a new doily, using a pattern I downloaded recently. I’ll post a picture of it when it’s done. I’m also waiting on yarn so I can make a boho vest for Chantal. I’m now a member of the Raven Family of Patreon supporters, and I’m able to speak to her directly. She’s a very nice person, and I am inspired by her.

Other Projects

I have a book nook I’m making using techniques I learned from Chantal at Darkest Raven Designs, Neil at Real Terrain Hobbies and Jeremy from Black Magic Craft. I am waiting on a piece that should help me with creating an infinity mirror effect. I hope it will anyway. This is the first time I’ve done something like this so I hope everyone will be gentle when they critique it. I took pictures of most of the build, and I plan a two part post talking about it.

It started with a box

I’m also still studying languages on Duolingo.com. I am still studying French, but I’ve also added Spanish and Italian: the three Romance languages. I am finding myself mixing up words because so many of them are close in spelling and meaning, but that’s part of the learning process. I am also using Rosetta Stone to learn Greek. The learning difficulty is about the same on both platforms, but I find I am preferring Rosetta for learning Greek. I’ll try out French on there next month. Learning languages is fun for me, and I find I am rather good at it – at least so far.

That’s my life in a nutshell so far.

See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!
