I finally finished the March portion of Fox and Rabbit’s Changing Season’s – 2022’s Mystery Stitch-A-Long. The flowers in the corners weren’t hard to stitch. It was doing all the framing first to make sure I put the flowers in the right places. They had to line up exactly with the corners of the small blocks and the inner frame. I also frogged the variegated green I’d messed up on so I can make the second portion of the inner frame. It’s the second portion if you’re working from the inside to the outside like I’m doing.

The stems are done in Green Metallic by Artiste while the flower petals are done in DMC. The frames are also done in DMC. My stitches aren’t perfect as you can see in the bottom picture, but I don’t mind. 🙂
I’d originally intended this piece to be a wall hanging for myself until a co-worker saw a picture of it before the flowers were stitched on. She expressed an interest in it, and I told her to wait until it was all stitched before she decided if she actually wanted it or not. She said she would.
I’m flattered she’d want something I’ve made, but I’m also nervous. I want to do a very good job, but I’m not that great on color choices. I may need some advice going forward.
Still, I’m glad this section is done, and I’m eager to see what April is going to bring!!
If you’re working on this MSAL too, feel free to share pictures/links!! I love seeing what everyone else is doing!!
See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!!
I love all the colors you are using it is bright and cheerful. Can’t wait to see it finished.

It’s wonderful that you now know how this project will end up! I’m pretty sure your colleague will love the colors you choose–maybe you could include some of her favorite colors too. 🙂

That’s a great idea!! I have the color combos for the seasons picked out already, but I can incorporate some of her favs in other parts of the design I’m sure. 🙂 I’m also thinking about getting some gold seed beads….

Your piece is looking so pretty and colorful. I have purchased my floss and just recently received my fabric, so I hope to get going on this one soon. I think your idea of adding some beads to this piece is a great idea! I am sure your coworker is going to love it.

Welcome to the MSAL!! What fabric are you using?? I’m using white Aida. I think I got 16 ct, but it could be 18 – I don’t remember now. 🙂
@Anita – what fabric are you using?? I think you said in the post you wrote about your own, but I’ve slept since I read it. I do apologize.
@Stitchingginny – it was Anita’s suggestion, and I am liking the idea. There’s some backstitching in the very center of the project, and I’m thinking of adding some beads to it – not many, and I’m going to do gold seed beads when I get them. I’m just going to add them over the stitches already there.
I plan to add more beads in different colors as I’m moved to do so, and I’m going to use clear thread, I think. I don’t think it will show up that much since the beads aren’t going to be all that big themselves.
I can’t wait to see your work on the MSAL stitchingginny 🙂
