YouTube Tuesday: Darkest Raven Designs: Dumbledore’s Office Final Video

As promised I am linking to the final video in the playlist. Chantal of Darkest Raven Designs did an amazing – better than amazing – job on this build of Dumbledore’s Office from the Harry Potter books and movies. She didn’t just do a basic mockup either. She got very detailed from the glass jars in the Memory Cabinet to all the books and paintings. She hung curtains, put in mirrors and paid attention to even the smallest of things.

She did all of this, and she brought us all along for the ride with a series of videos and live streams, including asking for contributions from viewers to add to the build. I was with her from the very first video, and I watched each one with a growing sense of wonder and awe as she turned her idea into a reality using photos from books and from watching parts of the movies. She even found the blueprints for the office online and showed us where she got them.

While the video below is the final video, you can easily watch from the beginning as Chantal has put together a playlist, and it’s live. Please, be sure to Like and Comment if you like the video(s) and be sure to Subscribe because she has a lot more projects, not all Harry Potter themed but just as wonderfully created, planned.

I really hope you enjoy this video and will watch the rest in the playlist. I highly recommend them!! Of course, don’t take my word for it, check out the above and decide for yourself.

See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!!

Fantastic Happenings at Darkest Raven Designs on YouTube!!!

As you all may, or may not, know I am a HUGE fan of Chantal and her YouTube channel, Darkest Ravens Designs. She is an AMAZING artist with a lot of wonderful interests including Harry Potter, Poe and Tim Burton – to name a few. She recently made two amazing builds I’d like to share with you today.

She and Sarah from Scribble Fix went to their local hardware store(they both live in Australia and have the same chain hardware store where they live), and they both bought the same box. This box looks like a book so naturally, they collaborated on decorating their boxes. You can find Sarah’s build here.

Chantal decided to decorate her box using inspiration from a video game from American McGee which features Alice and her friends from Wonderland. It’s a dark game full of gorgeous artwork and new looks for all of the characters, Alice included. As a Patreon supporter, I am able to get backstage peeks at the build, and I am in awe of her talent!! Click on the video below to see her awesome build!

Chantal has been doing a series of matchbook miniature dioramas based on Harry Potter including shops from Diagon Alley. She has done 14 I believe, putting out one every month. This month, however, she’s doing something very different. Because this month has 5 Fridays in it, she is creating Dumbledore’s office in 1/12 scale and releasing one video a week the entire month. Her first video features Fawkes in both adult and baby form!!

If you watch these videos, PLEASE, comment at the very least!! Chantal responds to practically all comments that are left, and she really appreciates the feedback. You don’t have to Like/Dislike or Subscribe, but they are nice as well.

Check out Fawkes and the beginning of Dumbledore’s office below:

As a member of Chantal’s Conspiracy(aka family) of Ravens, I am blessed with the ability to talk to Chantal and other Ravens on her Discord channel. She is a very wonderful and down to earth person I’d love to meet in person one day. By becoming a Patreon supporter of hers, you will be able to talk to Chantal, me and others in the Conspiracy.

I just love saying that word! Conspiracy! 😀

See you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!!!

YouTube Tuesday: Wizardry Workshop

This fantastic channel is run by Danny who is a big fan of Harry Potter. 98% of what he creates is related to Harry Potter, and he looks like he knows what he’s doing! He also does unboxing videos of items that are also Harry Potter related so if you’re into HP, this channel is for you! Check out this video below to see what I mean:

If you like Wizardry Workshop, be sure to subscribe and let him know by dropping a comment on the videos you like!

YouTube Tuesday – Darkest Raven Designs

I discovered the joys of YouTubers from my youngest son. He subscribes to several channels and asked me to watch one with him one evening. The man who has this channel recycles aluminum, tin, brass, and copper by melting them down himself. He also makes things with the results. He’s the subject of my next post. After watching several of his videos, I began checking out how-to videos on YouTube myself. Darkest Raven Designs was the first channel I subscribed to, and it’s the one I want to talk to you about today.

The owner of this channel is Chantal, and she lives in Australia. She actually has two channels, one featuring her artwork – painting mostly, and the other features her crafting such as miniatures and dioramas. She also takes thrift store statuettes and gives them a make over. She’s into gothic Victoriana and Edgar Allen Poe so she interests me.

Currently, she’s making matchbox miniatures of different parts of the world of Harry Potter. She’s done 11 so far, and she plans to make 50 total. She’s done some great things for what she called Gothmas as well.

Chantal is very talented, and I am in awe of her skills. I enjoy her videos because she shows so much and tells you a great deal about what she’s doing. I’ve watched videos where you have no real clue what’s going on so you can’t recreate what you see being made. Those are supposed to be how-to videos, but they don’t really teach you how to do anything. Chantal explains what she’s doing and how she’s doing it so you learn.

You can find Darkest Raven Designs here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMpbhogC2gPiU1FF3tQ4Zyg

Check out her newest video here:

I recommend checking out her play lists so you see all the great stuff she’s made herself.

I’ll see you on the flipside and don’t forget your towel and sonic screwdriver!
