Saturday Stitching: The Land Baby – a Finish!(Of Sorts)

The Land Baby by John Collier(1895) was turned into a cross stitch chart by someone (I have no idea who or when), and it was posted online as a series of images to be used for free. There are pdf versions others have created, and you have to pay for those. I’m using the free images. So, the painting was split into half – left and right. I’ve been working on the left.

Here is what she looked like last time I posted:

This is being worked on 16 count white Aida in the called for DMC colors. I forget how big she’s supposed to be, but on this count she’s not that big.

Here is what she looks like now:

The entire left side of the piece is now complete. I am going to be putting it away for the rest of 2022 and resume work on it at the beginning of 2023. I’ve been working on it almost from the beginning of 2022, and I need a break to get other projects done.

I have really enjoyed working on her, and I love how she’s turning out, The amount of detail in it without requiring back stitching is just amazing to me.

While I’m saying “see you later” to her, I still have plenty of other projects to show you including the ongoing Mystery Stitch-A-Long, Changing Seasons provided by Fox and Rabbit. I also have several smalls, and a new start which I’ll be showing you next week. 🙂

Until then, happy stitching!

YouTube Tuesdays: Jen’s Kreative Kreations

This week, I want to share the channel of a fantastically gifted visual artist named Jen. She does all kinds of wonderful creations from watercolor paintings to journals and so much more! As a fellow Texan, I am delighted to share her work with all of you, and I hope you like her as much as I do!

I am in love with this beautiful reminder of more innocent times when Pooh and his friends were a big part of my life and that of my youngest son. So many sweet memories tied up with these fellows. I always related best to Eeyore myself.

After you’ve watched this video, you should check out her other videos! She has a lot of eye candy to delight most members of your family and keep you on YT for hours, if not days!!!

If you like any of her work let her know by commenting on the video you like and subscribing to her channel. I know she’d appreciate the feedback!

In case you missed yesterday’s post, I am raffling off a throw/accent pillow to help offset the cost of Mimi’s vet bills. She’s still ill, but she’s recovering. She’s suffering from a bad bout of bronchitis from what the vet tells me. Raffle entries are 50 cents American, and the raffle will last two weeks, starting today. The donation button is on yesterday’s post towards the bottom:

YouTube Tuesday: Goobertown Hobbies

Brent is the man behind the paintbrush and minis on this channel, and he’s fun to watch and listen to. I enjoy his sense of humor as well as how down to earth he is. He’s done some really great work. I found about him while I was watching a video where he was helping Neil from Real Time Terrains paint the buildings for a town he was building. This town was part of a massive build that took Neil ONE YEAR to complete!! Talk about commitment!

Brent doesn’t just paint minis, he helps raise funds for charities and donates to charitable raffles – when he’s not playing with paints and glues at the molecular level. You’ll have to check out his channel to find out what I mean about that. Here is the link to his newest video and his continuing love for Warhammer minis:
