Vacation 2022 Countdown: 7 More Days to Texas Haunted Roadtrip!

We plan to leave very early – like 3-4 am – on Monday 3 Oct. heading for El Paso Texas. Our plan is still fluid. We’re following one road down from El Paso to Galveston with stops planned on the way. We might stay 2 nights in El Paso just to look around since I haven’t been since I was a child, and Joe has never been. Same thing with San Antonio, but that’s still up in the air. We will stay one night at least.

If you live along our route or within say 25 miles from it in any direction, and you think there are places we should check out, feel free to comment below! I’m sure Joe would love new areas to stream. 🙂

El Paso will be the longest drive as we don’t plan on stopping on our way there. We have plenty to see on the way down and around.

I’m just so excited! 😀

If you’d like to buy us coffee, or a tank of gas, please use the form below. I also have Chime, PayPal and Cash App so message me for more information if you’d like to use any of those instead.

Vacation 2022 Countdown: 14 days to Haunted Texas Road Trip!

I am really looking forward to this trip! It’s going to be a lot of driving, but there will be plenty of stops on the way once we get to El Paso and start the journey there. It’s about 12 hours to El Paso if we follow the route on the map, but we’re not. We’re going straight to El Paso and then, we’ll follow the map. I plan to find the fastest route there. 🙂

My son. Joe, had originally planned to only live stream us checking out haunted sites but now, he has the bright idea of doing a kind of Subathon for his Twitch channel where he will livestream for so many minutes for each new subscriber he gets. His channel is:

https://www.twitch.tv/grimcommando95

He’s been streaming for two years now, and I’m so glad he’s stuck with it despite how slow it’s been to build up followers. It is an adult only stream as he curses, drinks(at times) and is just himself. He also streams games he plays with others and is always happy to play with someone new. He likes to try out new games too.

We’re going to be taking turns driving, and we’ll set up the phone as best we can to stream if/when it comes time to stream our actual traveling.

I’ll be posting pictures myself on a daily basis. I’m going to try to embed video as well, if I can figure out how. I’ll be focusing mainly on what we see at the haunted sites, if anything.

If you’d like to buy me a coffee/pay for a gallon of gas, feel free to use the form below and choose whatever amount you want to donate. Every penny is greatly appreciated!

Dungeons and Dragons Inspired Twitch Streaming Prop – Health Potion

I took a Hartley Peach Brandy bottle – emptied by myself and my special gentleman friend – and I turned it into a Health Potion ala Dungeons and Dragons. My son asked me to make him a prop for his Twitch stream : Grim Commando 95, and we both chose the potion bottle.

I watched Darkest Raven Designs make her potion bottles, and I copied it only on a large scale. I also didn’t age or label the bottle because my son wanted something simple and basic. For the potion itself, I used:

Glycerin

Red Mica Powder

Water

For the bottle, I used

Push Button light

Foam

Cardboard

Mod Podge

Glue

Acrylic Paint in Brown and Black

Tissue Paper

The end results:

I know these aren’t the greatest pictures, and I really wish I had a decent way to make a video of it because the potion swirls inside and looks really cool with the light shining on it from below.

This is my first time ever doing something like this, and my son was pleased with the result so, I’m happy with how it came out. I’ll be doing more projects with bottles including making a Mana Potion prop for his stream. That will be a while because I want to get a few things to try out with it first.

More great projects are in the works, and I’ll be sharing them with you as I get them done just because I can!! LOL

YouTube Tuesday: My Son on Twitch Instead

My youngest son, Joe, has begun streaming himself playing some of his Steam games like his YouTube hero, Mark Plier. Only thing is, he’s not streaming on YouTube, he’s streaming on Twitch. He’s also just doing it for fun right now as he learns how to stream and use Twitch. He may, eventually move to YouTube but then again, he may not.

The main game he’s playing is Phasmophobia. He enjoys playing with other people as long as they actually want to play the game and not just clown around. He’s also playing Forest and Uno just not as much. He often lets his viewers decide what he’s going to play when he first starts his live stream.

He talks to people as well, as long as it doesn’t interfere with game play. He will greet viewers when they first show up, but he doesn’t text or anything because it will interfere with game play.

I am very proud of him for doing this as he’s always been a bit on the shy side. He’s also not that tech savvy, but he’s willing to learn. If you’re interested, the link to his stream is below

If anyone out there has any tips or advice to give him as far as streaming or his live feed goes please, let him know. He’s very open to constructive criticism.
